OUr Mission
After Midnight Literary Magazine is a home for emerging voices and the stories too often left outside the literary conversation. It is built on the belief that writing should be accessible, inclusive, and from the heart of the human condition.
Good writing belongs to everyone, not just the people who know the right rooms to stand in. It belongs to anyone willing to think deeply, imagine boldly, and tell the truth with intention. For that reason, this magazine does not accept work created with generative AI or work that glorifies harm.

Ember C. is a disabled, deaf, and queer writer, born and raised in Colorado. He loves reading anything with a focus on SF/F and books with disability representation. He lives surrounded by his cats and unread books he insists he’ll finish someday.

Jasmine
(she/her)
Jasmine is a queer, disabled veteran and writer. Raised in Montana, she’s now retired to Florida. She loves Sapphic romance and fantasy, her family, and video games.
Joey
(he/they)
Joey is a writer and bookseller from the Midwest with an affinity for weird and generally upsetting litfic. When not writing or reading, he’s usually watching baseball or hockey and yelling at the TV.
Katherine

Katherine is a writer, editor, and teacher based in North Carolina. When she’s not reading domestic thrillers, mysteries, or feminist satire, she’s spending time with her family and (literally) herding cats.
K.T. Vera
(they/them)
Kay is a queer Boricua writer and college professor born and raised in New York City. They are drawn to urban fantasy, romance and sapphic fiction and stories where Hispanic representation takes up the space it deserves. When gaming, they can be found trying (and failing) to keep their cat off the keyboard.
Mary

Mary is a freelance data consultant/writer and recovering academic based in Los Angeles. She loves fiction and creative nonfiction essays centered on reclaiming one’s past, coming of age, intergenerational dynamics, or the exploration of identities. She enjoys watercolor painting, blogging, and hanging with her cat Grimalkin, and has recently started playing in her first D&D campaign.

Sarah is an autistic and disabled writer and freelance editor based in Virginia. She loves reading romance and urban fantasy, and especially urban romantasy! She’s passionate about including invisible disabilities in her work. She sends love to her husband and cats.
